Ben Hixson,

Mr.
Hixson formed the applied technical resource consulting company
Hixson Consultants, Inc. to provide expert roofing, architectural
sheet metal, glazing, windows, doors, storefront, curtain wall,
wall system and waterproofing consulting services to the total
building envelope and to assist customers with Risk Management of
their projects. He has over 34 years of experience in roof, wall and
waterproofing condition analysis, life-cycle cost analysis, the
selection of components and systems designed to remedy the causes
for observed problems, budgeting, design specifications and CAD
detailing, superior repair techniques and critical path project
management. Investigative surveys and new and existing facility
projects have included below-grade waterproofing, plazas, masonry,
precast, tilt wall, split-face brick and block, metal wall panels,
terra cotta, stucco, DEFS, EIFS, balconies, terraces, parking decks,
pools and fountains, and all types of both flat and sloped roofing
installations. He has considerable experience in architectural sheet
metal, metal panel roofing, cold process, torch-grade and peel and
stick fully adhered modified bitumen roofing, and vulcanized and
thermoplastic roofing.
Mr. Hixson has promoted the benefits of complete submittal review
prior to pre-installation meetings, mock-ups, QA monitoring and
infrared thermography and dielectric capacitance non-destructive
detection of concealed moisture. In addition to these services,
Hixson Consultants, Inc. offers leak source discovery investigation
and water testing of wall and glazing watertight integrity with AAMA
501.2-03 simple water hose water testing and the more
definitive ASTME 1105 and E331 static cyclic pressure chamber water
pressure testing.
Most recently, Mr. Hixson was co-owner and founder of Hixson Smith
Consultants, Inc. specializing in building envelope applied
technical consulting services. Prior to that he was an Associate,
and Manager, Roofing and Waterproofing, for BauTech, Inc. Formerly,
for over six years, Mr. Hixson was a Sr. Roof Consultant, Roof
System Specialist, with Armko Industries, Inc., a Dallas, Texas
based consulting/design/distribution firm. From 1991-1993, he was a
sales engineer for Engineered Systems concentrating on avoiding and
remedying water entry problems in the harsh Pulp and Paper Mill
environment. Mr. Hixson received a B.A. in Chemistry from Vanderbilt
University in 1973 and is uniquely able to correlate product
chemistry to predictable field performance. An active member of Roof
Consultants Institute (RCI), he has earned all four of the
Construction Specification Industry`s professional designations
recognizing many years of construction experience and successful
passage of technical proficiency exams.
Greg
Cunningham

Senior Consultant, Glass, Glazing, Storefronts & Curtain Wall
Systems
Mr. Cunningham has 31 years of experience in the curtain wall and
glazing subcontracting industry. After graduating from Southern
Illinois University with a Degree in Architectural Technology, he
worked with the following excellent glass subcontracting companies:
Greer Architectural Products in Houston, Texas, Pritchard Paint and
Glass in Charlotte, North Carolina, Masonry Arts in Bessemer,
Alabama and Admiral Glass in Houston, Texas.
His considerable experience comes from engineering, project
management, estimating and sales in the glass contracting industry.
Greg brings a commitment to quality and the knowledge of glazing
systems from storefronts to unitized high end curtain walls and the
desire to have a hands on approach on jobsites or existing
buildings. Noteworthy projects include Morgan-Keegan Tower in
Memphis, Tennessee; the Hyatt DFW Terminal D Hotel in Dallas-Fort
Worth, Texas; Phoenix Tower, Houston, Texas;
Sears Tower replacements, Chicago, Illinois; University of
Texas Institute of Molecular Medicine in Houston, Texas; AmSouth

Tony
Wright

Senior
Consultant, Roofing, Wall Systems & Waterproofing
Mr. Wright has over 31 years of experience in roofing, waterproofing
and architectural sheet metal contracting. Starting in the family
business as a roofing laborer, his career evolved to Owner and
Principal of a full service roofing / waterproofing contractor
serving the governmental, commercial, industrial, institutional and
multi-family residential markets. Involvement with small
building additions to multiple large manufacturing plant expansion
afforded him a unique opportunity to accumulate a considerable
wealth of experience with successful construction detailing,
management and administration.
Tony is well-known for his ability to discover leak origins, his
commitment to quality assurance and proving high quality
installations begin with preconstruction (including proper flashing
and component interface design and delivery). He has earned a strong
reputation for attention to detail and courageous leadership that
resonates well with our clients and HCI’s core values. Tony earned
his bachelor’s degree in Accounting with an emphasis on construction
from Auburn University. Tony joined HCI as a Senior Consultant in
2005 and has quickly established himself as an indispensable member
of the HCI family.
Tyler
Hixson, CMI, CMR, CT
Senior Field / Certified Infrared Technician
Joining HCI full-time in 2002, Mr. Hixson is a certified Mold
Inspector and a certified Mold Remediator. Tyler conducts both our
Non-destructive Thermo graphic and Dielectric Capacitance Wall and
Roofing Concealed Moisture Detection surveys. Additionally, Tyler is
a key individual in HCI’s Quality Assurance Oversight program -
performing quality assurance monitoring for specialty contractor
compliance with specifications and details, and work practices in
keeping with generally accepted good industry practice. He offers
condition discovery services – including roofing, cladding and
sealant condition discovery and reporting, as a cost effective
precursor to creating project specific reports and remedial
recommendations.
Tyler’s hands-on experience is enhanced by extensive industry
training – including the RCI Institute's symposiums on Low Slope
Roofing Systems, Water Entry Prevention / Moisture Control,
Environmental Sustainability / LEED and Fundamentals to Field
Application: Issues of Wind and Moisture; and certification by
American Council of Governmental Industrial Hygienists and National
Association of Mold Professionals.
Jane Linam and Brenna Cleckley
Administrative Assistants
Jane has a wide-ranging administrative history in the Finance,
Insurance and Social Services Industries. The applied technical
building consulting service is a new endeavor for her, but she sees
a challenge in learning the business. She is responsible for the
smooth function of our daily production activities both in the
office and in the field.
Brenna answers incoming calls and does much of the report typing and
distribution required by our consultants. She tracks all projects
and keeps us on task for deliverable turn around in the most timely
manner.
